Turning the mitigation challenge into an economic opportunity for energy-intensive industries

In the transition to a net-zero emissions global economy, Australia can become an “energy superpower” by exporting low-carbon materials, resources and energy carriers. In this PhD project, the successful candidate would investigate technological solutions for reducing GHG emissions in energy-intensive industries, such as electrification of processes, fuel switching to renewable sources and renewable hydrogen, energy efficiency, as well as future material demands such as cement and aluminium and their potential substitution.
