We are pleased to announce that scholarships are available for Joint PhD candidates who will work on one of the specified topics of the University of Melbourne (UoM) - Universität Hamburg (UHH) program. These scholarships are for PhD candidates to be based at the University of Melbourne, who will spend at least twelve months at Universität Hamburg, Germany. The candidates will be enrolled at both the University of Melbourne and tUniversität Hamburg and will be co-supervised by supervisors at both institutions. More information on joint PhD degrees can be seen here. Successful candidates will be due to enrol by December 2019, to commence in 2020.
Applicants must meet the University of Melbourne's and the University of Hamburg's selection criteria. Details on the University of Melbourne's entry requirements can be seen here, and details for the entry requirements at Universität Hamburg can be seen here. The application process is competitive, with higher than the equivalent of a University of Melbourne 80% in a relevant degree expected. Domestic and international applicants are welcome.
The successful candidate will receive a scholarship, which will include a 100% fee remission scholarship, a living allowance for three years with a possible 6-month extension, and funding for travel.
The successful candidate will also be part of the Australian-German Climate and Energy College, University of Melbourne and either the School of Integrated Climate and Earth System Sciences (SICCS) or the International Max Planck Research School on Earth System Modelling (IMPRS-ESM), Universität Hamburg.
